Window

From the only window she watched
Children playing in the ground
Running all across the sand
Round and round and round

From the only window she watched
Teenagers meeting their dates
She thought of the things they’ll do
When the shut the gates

From the only window she watched
Lovers uniting after a long time
And the silly little poems they’d read
Some without and some with rhyme

From the only window she watched
Two souls uniting to become one
The responsibilities they would handle
And amidst those, the most awaited fun

From the only window she watched
The kids running off to school
Tired after sending them and tiring
To cook something for the kids to drool

From the only window she watched
People becoming older each day
If only they could reverse it
But this was the only way

From the only window she watched
The visit of death in the end
How little time we have here!
Mortality catches up with all in the end

From the only window she watched
That was the only thing she could do
Ignored about her existence all her life
There was nowhere now she could go
